In 2025, XRP Ledger (XRPL) demonstrated notable growth with an increase in the popularity of Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin and real-world assets, along with steps towards smart contract innovations.
Ripple RLUSD Success
Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin showed outstanding performance in Q2, reaching a market cap of $65.9 million, marking a 154.4% increase from the previous quarter. RLUSD became the largest stablecoin on XRPL. Other stablecoins, such as USDC from Circle and EURØP from Schuman Financial, have also been launched on the network.
Growth of Real-World Assets on XRPL
The real-world asset market on XRPL also made progress, ending the quarter with an all-time high market cap of $131.6 million, up 13% from the previous quarter. Several new products, including tokenized funds and commercial paper, were introduced to the platform following the XRPL Apex event in Singapore.
Smart Contract Progress
XRPL is advancing its move towards Ethereum compatibility. The launch of the EVM Sidechain on June 30 allows developers to access Ethereum tools and applications. This development is also linked to a recent partnership with Wormhole, potentially paving the way for the launch of native smart contracts.
Thus, despite a decrease in short-term activity, XRPL continues to attract institutional investments and expand its development capabilities.
