The hacker responsible for the breach of one of India's largest crypto exchanges, WazirX, has reemerged, moving 10,000 ETH through privacy protocols to launder the funds.

WazirX Breach and Fund Movement

The hacker behind the July 2024 WazirX breach has resurfaced, moving 10,000 ETH in an effort to obscure the stolen assets. The funds were split into two transactions: 5,000 ETH sent to Tornado Cash and 5,000 ETH to a new unidentified wallet.

Zettai's Response and Legal Maneuvers

Zettai, the company managing WazirX, has appealed to the High Court of Singapore for a temporary stay on certain obligations. An independent audit cleared WazirX’s main infrastructure provider of involvement in the breach, contrary to initial reports. The fallout from the breach affected several cryptocurrencies, including Ethereum and Shiba Inu.

ENS Integration with Venmo and PayPal

ENS Labs announced integration with Venmo and PayPal, allowing users to transfer cryptocurrency using ENS names. This simplifies the crypto transfer process, making it more accessible to the general public. PayPal continues to strengthen its position in the blockchain space, with its PYUSD stablecoin recently surpassing $1 billion in market capitalization.

The hacker's actions continue to raise concerns about the security of crypto exchanges. Meanwhile, the ENS integration with Venmo and PayPal opens new opportunities for mainstream adoption of cryptocurrency.
