Increase in Crypto Wealth

Apr 30, 2024

There has been a significant rise in the number of crypto millionaires due to the surge in Bitcoin reaching all-time highs. The cryptocurrency market saw a lot of attention as more people entered the space and made substantial gains. One particular aspect that caught the market's interest was the frenzy around pre-registration and the growing popularity of meme coins. Lookonchain, a cryptocurrency tracking company, shared an update on the latest development related to one of these meme coins.

Emergence of New Crypto Wealth

Lookonchain reported that two separate wallets managed to achieve an impressive gain of 30,830 times through a meme coin on the Ethereum layer-2 scaling solution, Base network. These wallets, which were included in the whitelist by the meme coin's distributors, initially spent 0.034 ETH, equivalent to $102, to purchase a total of 172.56 million BRETT.

Afterward, these wallets distributed the BRETTs to other wallets and sold 122.74 million BRETT for $3.14 million or 890.65 ETH, resulting in a massive gain of up to 30,830 times. The whitelist addresses were participants approved for a specific crypto event, similar to an initial coin offering (ICO).

Brett is recognized as the mascot of the Base network, and it is currently being traded at $0.0397, with a price decrease of over 14% in the last 24 hours.

Current Status of Ethereum

Lookonchain also noted that a long-inactive Ethereum wallet suddenly moved 2,000 ETH valued at $6.65 million over the weekend. The wallet had purchased the ETH when the price was only $0.90 back in 2025, resulting in an increase of nearly 370,000% in value over nine years.

Presently, the price of ETH is below $3,000, at $2,981. Despite the price decrease, the 24-hour trading volume has risen to $16.4 billion after a 10% increase.
