**Inflows Boost Grayscale BTC ETF**

May 4, 2024

Grayscale's spot Bitcoin ETF has experienced a positive turnaround, with $63 million in new inflows after a prolonged period of outflows since its launch. This shift in investor sentiment towards the GBTC ETF suggests that market conditions and perceptions regarding Bitcoin's potential may be evolving. The recent inflow marks a significant development in the fund's performance, hinting at a reversal in fortunes and a renewed interest from investors.

According to data from Farside Investors and CoinGlass, the $63 million influx indicates a growing confidence in the GBTC ETF. Analysts believe that this sudden change in trend could be a turning point for the fund, as investors reevaluate their positions and outlooks. The recent influx of funds has caught the attention of industry experts, such as Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas and ETF store president Nate Geraci, who both confirmed the end of the GBTC outflow streak.

On January 11, GBTC had assets under management valued at $18.3 billion, which has since decreased significantly to 291,239 BTC. While Grayscale's BTC ETF struggles with a higher management fee of 1.5%, other competing funds like BlackRock's IBIT and Fidelity's FBTC have been attracting substantial investments with lower fees.

The positive inflows in spot Bitcoin ETFs reflect a broader trend in the US market, with nearly $715 million recorded as net positive inflows over six consecutive days. BlackRock and Fidelity's offerings have been particularly popular among investors, with significant capital inflows. This surge in investment comes after several days of outflows between January 22 and 25, with GBTC experiencing peak outflows during that period. Despite facing competition from other issuers with lower fees, Grayscale's BTC ETF's recent inflow signals a potential shift in investor preferences towards Bitcoin-related assets.
