Jack Dorsey Shares Bitcoin's Price Prediction for 2030

May 10, 2024

During an interview with journalist Mike Solana on Pirate Wires, Dorsey mentioned his positive outlook on Bitcoin's long-term price potential, suggesting that it could reach at least $1 million by 2030 and go even higher.

As the current head of Block, a financial services company, Dorsey emphasized that Bitcoin's price is not the main focus but rather the collaborative ecosystem surrounding it. He praised the collective efforts of those involved with Bitcoin for contributing to the growth of the ecosystem and subsequently driving up the price.

Dorsey described Bitcoin as a captivating ecosystem and movement that has contributed significantly to his knowledge and experience. His comments came after stepping down from the board of Bluesky, a decentralized social network originally aimed to provide an open-source protocol for platforms like Twitter to utilize while deterring censorship risks.

Dorsey expressed his disappointment with Bluesky's transition into a more traditional company structure with venture capitalists and a board, contrary to the initial vision of an open and decentralized platform.

In a shareholder letter, Dorsey revealed that Block would allocate 10% of its gross profit from Bitcoin products to purchasing more BTC monthly. Despite his optimistic view, Block is facing scrutiny from US federal prosecutors investigating alleged compliance issues at its payment divisions, Square and Cash App.
