  4. Rockstar has recently removed almost two dozen missions from GTA Online as part of the latest weekly update. The removed content includes 4 Adversary Modes and 19 Race Series.

    Content Removal from GTA Online

This is not the first time GTA Online has lost content, although it has been getting new updates regularly since 2013. In most cases, developers provide reasons for content removal from the game.

    Removed Modes and Series

The latest weekly update came on August 22, in which four Adversary Modes and 19 Series were removed from the game. The removed Adversary Modes consist of Assault on Cayo Perico, Casino, Missile Base, and Bunker. Hints were given about the removal of these modes earlier on August 15. Besides that, the 19 races that were removed from the game include: * Cayo Perico Series * Crossing Paths * Downtown Underground * Grass Route * Issi Classic races * Known Unknowns * Overtime Rumble * Rancho Rivalry * Senora Freeway * Unknown Knowns * Criminal Records * Dockyard * Grapeseed Circuit * Graveyard Shift * Just Deserts * Mudslide * Pier 2 Pier * Scenic Route * Taxiing

    Previous Content Rotations

The current content rotation happened 14 months after GTA Online cut out almost a quarter of the vehicles during the San Andreas Mercenaries update. Earlier in May, the developers also removed in-game emails, an update that remained unpopular among gamers. Considering the recent update on August 22, the new Adversary Mode, Assault on ATT-16, is packed with content. It will feature two teams competing against each other across various stages on the ground, in the air, and at sea.

As of now, it is not clear whether the removed missions will return to GTA Online. Most fans do not seem very pleased with Rockstar's decision, and some are even speculating that Rockstar may be planning to add the removed missions to a GTA+ membership. However, no such plans have been hinted at by the developers yet.
