Solana has unveiled the new Seeker smartphone aimed at integrating Web3 technologies into the mobile segment. With the launch of the Seeker model, Solana takes a step towards decentralization and autonomy in mobile devices.
150,000 crypto smartphones on the market
The Seeker smartphone has been launched in over 50 countries and has recorded 150,000 preorders. In comparison, the previous model, Saga, sold only 20,000 units. On platform X, Solana Mobile announced: "Seekers officially start shipping today! Thank you for your support and belief in Solana Mobile since day one."
TEEPIN and SKR Token: A New Approach to Web3
The Seeker smartphone utilizes TEEPIN technology (Trusted Execution Environment Platform Infrastructure Network), which offers a three-layer architecture for validating hardware and software without third-party intervention. Emmett Hollyer, GM of Solana Mobile, noted: "Aligning incentives is essential to building a truly decentralized and self-sustaining mobile ecosystem… It transforms the traditional mobile business model by giving stakeholders actual ownership in the platform." The SKR token powers the internal economy of the device, including management and dApp discovery.
Opening of the Decentralized Apps Market
With the Seeker smartphone, Solana aims to disrupt the monopoly of traditional platforms, offering over 100 decentralized applications in its dApp store. Emmett Hollyer stated: "To all developers: Your audience is arriving. Seeker users are your first customers for the next wave of differentiated, mobile-native dApps."
The launch of the Seeker highlights Solana's commitment to bringing Web3 into everyday life, challenging traditional players and creating a new economy for users.
