Supreme Court YouTube Channel Hacked

Hackers gained control of the Supreme Court of India’s YouTube channel and changed its name to Ripple. According to reports, the channel had a significant subscriber base and was used to broadcast court proceedings live.

Hackers' Actions

After the hijack, hackers streamed a fake broadcast featuring Ripple Labs CEO Brad Garlinghouse with the title, "Brad Garlinghouse: Ripple Responds To The SEC's $2 Billion Fine! XRP Price Prediction." Reports indicate that hackers urged live viewers to invest in fake cryptocurrency, offering unrealistic returns. During the live stream, they also placed a phishing link urging users to connect their wallets, allowing hackers to gain full control and steal crypto without further authentication.

Channel Removal and Reaction

Later, YouTube deleted the channel along with the fake video, citing a violation of community guidelines. Following this incident, the Supreme Court of India released a statement: "This is to inform all concerned that the YouTube channel of the Supreme Court of India has been taken down. The services on the YouTube channel of the Supreme Court of India will be resumed shortly."

The incident involving the hacking of the Supreme Court of India’s YouTube channel underscores the importance of internet security. Users must remain vigilant and cautious while consuming online content and interacting with phishing links.
