Thai authorities have carried out a decisive action against unlawful crypto activities by confiscating more than 650 cryptocurrency mining devices worth over $5 million. The operation focused on two different locations where hidden mining rigs were discovered, with one of them shockingly hidden within a temple. The raids were conducted by the Cyber Crime Investigations Bureau and the Provincial Authority after noticing significant power consumption differences that pointed towards illegal operations.

Apart from seizing the devices, the operation also led to the arrest of three individuals who were responsible for managing these operations. The accused individuals confessed to importing these devices from China and then offering them for sale or lease within Thailand. They also provided hosting services that covered electricity costs for a monthly fee.
