ZKX Protocol Funding Challenges
Last June, ZKX secured a funding of $7.6 million, with investments from Flowdesk, GCR, and DeWhales. The funding was intended to boost the development of the ZKX Protocol, introducing innovative features like social copy trade pools and cross-chain interoperability.
Despite the successful fundraising, the platform faced significant financial struggles that ultimately led to its closure. Eduard Jubany Tur, ZKX's founder, cited the inability to create a sustainable financial path as the primary reason for shutting down. Low user engagement and decreased trading volumes also contributed to the challenges faced by the platform.
Following the closure, ZKX took steps to dismantle all trading markets, settle open positions, and return funds to its users. Individuals are advised to transfer their assets from ZKX's self-custodial wallets on Starknet back to layer 1 via the provided bridge.
Tur highlighted that the diminishing value of the token added to the financial complexities of the platform. The token's value drop led to a 52% decrease in its valuation within a single day.
User Instructions for Withdrawal
To facilitate the transition, ZKX has outlined withdrawal instructions for users, urging them to withdraw their assets before August 31st. During this period, users can move their funds from ZKX's self-custodial wallets on Starknet to layer 1 using the available bridge. Furthermore, users are encouraged to claim any pending STRK rewards before the specified deadline.
Future Prospects and Challenges
While the recent funding aimed at propelling ZKX's advancement, the platform's struggle with financial sustainability indicates significant challenges ahead. Despite the investment infusion, the closure underscores the hurdles faced in maintaining the platform's viability.
