Mar 26, 2024

The startup Gunzilla Games, which is developing the game Off the Grid, has successfully raised $30 million in investments. The financing was led by well-known entities in the crypto industry CoinFund and the Blizzard Fund from Avalanche. The funds raised will be directed towards further development and release of the game, which promises to be an innovative project in the world of console gaming for Sony PlayStation, Microsoft Xbox, and PC.

Off the Grid is a game that integrates elements of Web3, such as NFTs and blockchain technologies, making them accessible to a wide audience of players without the need for deep immersion into the complexities of cryptocurrencies. According to Lydia Chiu, the head of Ava Labs and chairperson of the Blizzard Fund, the game will allow players to experience all the benefits of blockchain games without realizing it.

In addition, Gunzilla Games has announced the launch of the blockchain platform GUNZ, which will provide AAA game developers with the opportunity to offer players full ownership rights to in-game items in the form of NFTs. The GUNZ test network was launched in April 2023, marking a significant step forward in the development of the gaming industry and blockchain technologies.

Co-founder and CEO of Gunzilla Games, Vlad Korolev, emphasized that the upcoming release of Off the Grid and the GUNZ platform will open up new horizons in the world of AAA games and set new standards in the blockchain space. The game Off the Grid, a third-person shooter, introduces the concept of full asset ownership and player-driven in-game economy, representing significant progress in gaming technologies.
