Indonesian college student Sultan Gustaf Al Ghozali, who made a million dollars by selling NFTs of his selfies on OpenSea, has returned with a new iteration of his NFT project, raising $1.8 million in a memecoin presale. In January 2022, Ghozali created NFTs with photos of himself that he took every day for five years, dubbed "Ghozali Everyday". This project garnered support from the crypto community, earning Ghozali, then still a student, over $1 million.

After graduating from college in 2023, Ghozali announced on X that he would finally stop taking selfies, calling his idea "the stupidest". However, after several months of absence on X, Ghozali returned when interest in memecoins surged. On March 24, he announced the second iteration of "Ghozali Everyday" — a project that combines a memecoin and NFT on the Base blockchain.

Since the launch, the presale exceeded its 400 Ether limit, reaching 527 ETH, which is about $1.8 million. Ghozali stated on X that he would refund those who sent ETH after reaching the limit. This success highlights the resurging interest in memecoins, mainly driven by Solana traders, and demonstrates that Solana project presales collected $100 million in just three days from March 15 to March 18.

Besides the Solana network, the total value locked (TVL) on the Coinbase layer-2 network, Base, doubled as investors view the blockchain as the next epicenter for memecoins. Some industry experts believe that after the memecoin season on Solana, attention may gradually shift to Base, and significant surges could occur in the layer-2 network. However, despite the potential for quick profits that memecoins can offer, the management company Franklin Templeton warned that memecoins "have no inherent value or utility," although they recognized their potential for rapid enrichment of investors.
