Solana Mobile is gearing up to launch its second blockchain smartphone, building on the success of its first model, according to CoinDesk citing informed sources. The new model will feature improved specifications and be offered at a more affordable price, although specific technical details have yet to be revealed.

Like its predecessor, Saga, the new smartphone will come equipped with a built-in crypto wallet, a specialized Android user interface, and a dapp store. Journalists note that the release of the second model could stabilize the increased demand for the first model. Currently, Saga is being sold on eBay for $3200, which is five times higher than its initial price in December.

The heightened interest in the first model was sparked by the distribution of the Bonk (BONK) token, leading to a shortage of the device. At peak times, users received about $900 in meme cryptocurrency for purchasing a phone priced at $599. Further price increases were driven by new airdrops of meme tokens for the owners of 15,000 devices.

It's worth noting that after a surge in December 2023, the prices of most Solana meme tokens, including BONK, WIF, ANALOS, and others, have nearly halved over the past month.
