Last Expedition: An Overview Of The Future Economy

Mar 11, 2024

Gala Games has provided an overview of the complex economy that will be present in the PvPvE first-person shooter with elements of science fiction, Last Expedition, currently under development. The game, in its pre-alpha testing phase and available for free play on PC, will utilize a meta-economic system consisting of multiple different in-game currencies created on GalaChain. Players will be able to exchange these currencies with each other and with $GALA using the new GalaSwap platform, launched at the end of February, making these in-game currencies a rewarding system, encouraging players to enhance their skills and use gaming rewards to acquire various useful items and upgrades.

Notarium - Valuable Resource

Special attention is given to Notarium - the most sought-after resource in the game. Players will mine this resource on the planet Aura, with the amount of mined Notarium depending on the threat level on the server. The threat level is determined based on the number of Creature Mods on the server, meaning the more complex the PvE elements in the game, the more Notarium is available for mining. Only one out of four teams on the server can successfully escape with the collected Notarium, as the team that manages to survive and leave the planet with the Notarium core receives all the resources collected during the expedition. If no team survives, then the server operator receives the Notarium and any other resources that the teams attempted to export.

Application of Notarium

Notarium will not only be a tradable currency on GalaChain but will also be used to purchase minted items, namely NFTs, as well as for creating "high-level meta-game recipes." More details about crafting are planned to be revealed in the future. This means that server operators can use it to purchase new NFT mods of server operators to increase the threat level on their server, thus increasing the amount of Notarium for players to collect. There are three types of server operator mods: creature mods, PvE mods, and server mods.
