Online reports have announced the start of sales of SIM cards with blockchain support from China Telecom

Jan 27, 2024

CryptoYunqi, an analyst and crypto expert using a pseudonym, has announced the launch of BSIM SIM cards with integrated blockchain support in China. This project is a collaboration with the Chinese mobile operator China Telecom and developers from Conflux Network.

The first mentions of these new SIM cards appeared in early 2023. According to the developers, the main goal of this project is to simplify access to Web3 technologies for regular users.

In addition to other features, BSIM can store private keys and even cryptocurrencies using a cold wallet. The infrastructure for this has been provided by the Conflux Network team. CryptoYunqi has reported that the cost of subscribing to the new SIM card will be $5.5 per month, offering users 70GB of internet and 500 minutes for calls.

At the time of writing this article, neither China Telecom nor Conflux Network has officially announced the commencement of sales of these SIM cards.

However, it is worth noting that the Conflux token (CFX) experienced a growth of over 9% following the dissemination of this information. As of the time of writing, its price stands at $0.2 according to TradingView data.
