The management of a major internet forum Reddit has announced its gradual investment in Bitcoin and Ethereum. This strategy began as early as 2022. Information about investments in cryptocurrencies was disclosed after the company filed for a stock offering on American exchanges. Reddit's wallets contain BTC and ETH, although the amounts are considered "insignificant." Additionally, Reddit sees great potential in blockchain and has already experimented with selling virtual goods for ETH and MATIC. Despite the amounts being small, the company has acknowledged the convenience of using cryptocurrencies for payment transactions.
It is worth noting that earlier Reddit launched a loyalty program based on the Ethereum network, under which users received ERC-20 tokens called Community Points. However, last year in the fall, the program was discontinued.
