The company Tether, issuing the most common stablecoin USDT, has not yet made a final decision regarding the termination of support for its USDT token on the TRON blockchain, similar to Circle, which announced the cessation of support for its USDC stablecoin on the TRON network. The company told Cointelegraph that their tokens are issued on various blockchains, which simply provide a transport function for them.
Last month, a UN report was published claiming that the use of USDT on the Tron blockchain has become a preferred option for cyber fraud and money laundering in Southeast Asia due to its simplicity, anonymity, and low transaction fees. Tether protested this report, stating that the UN did not consider the possibility of tracking USDT and the company's data on cooperation with law enforcement agencies.
