The Ripple and SEC case is scheduled for February, March and April 2024

Jan 2, 2024

In a new YouTube video, cryptoanalyst Zak Humphries outlined important dates in the legal battle between Ripple Labs and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in 2024.

In his opinion, the outcome of the legal proceedings between Ripple and the SEC could impact the entire industry. February 12th will be a crucial date marked as a "deep dive" into legal defense, which will set the stage for upcoming legal procedures.

On March 13th, SEC representatives will express their opinion based on the analysis of the situation. One of the key aspects that the SEC will challenge is the sale of XRP to institutional investors.

In July 2023, a U.S. federal court ruled that XRP is not a security, contrary to SEC's claims. However, the court also partially sided with the SEC, stating that Ripple's XRP sales to organizations constitute an unregistered securities investment contract.

Humphries emphasized another important date in the case timeline, which will occur on April 12, 2024. On this day, Ripple plans to present its arguments against SEC's allegations.

With a short time interval, namely April 29th, a response from the SEC is expected. It is possible that a final decision will be reached by the end of April or in May 2024, concluding the legal standoff that began in 2020.
