The Starknet team has officially announced that they plan to release update v0.13.0 on the mainnet with an expected date of January 10, 2024.

Following the completion of the vote on this matter with a 99.86% majority, the Starknet development team has announced the upcoming update v0.13.0, which will bring significant changes to the mainnet network. Among these changes, it is important to highlight a reduction in transaction fees.

The scheduled upgrade is set for January 10, 2024, at 13:00 Kyiv time. Validators are urged to update their nodes immediately after the implementation of this update.

One of the key changes in version v0.13.0 is the introduction of V3 transactions. Developers claim that this is a necessary foundation for the project's future development. In particular, this new type of transaction will eventually allow for fee payments in STRK in addition to Ethereum. The update was successfully tested in the Goerli and Sepolia test networks in early December 2023.
