Against the background of Elon Musk new statement, the value of the Neuralink token increased by 37%

Feb 20, 2024

Billionaire Elon Musk has announced that the first person with a Neuralink implant has managed to manipulate a computer mouse with the power of his mind. This news led to a sharp rise in the price of the NEURALINK token by 37.4%.

"This is the best progress I've ever seen in this area," Musk said.

Recall that Musk introduced this chip in January 2024, stressing at the same time that the implantation operation was successful. The news about the patient achieving such results led to a new historical maximum in the price of the NEURALINK token, which reached $2.4.

"We are seeing good progress, and it seems that the patient has fully recovered without any negative consequences. He is able to move the computer mouse pointer across the screen with the power of his thoughts," the billionaire said.

Musk also noted that the Neuralink team is working on expanding the functionality of the chip. They aim for the patient to be able to perform more complex tasks, such as holding down the controller key while moving the pointer.

However, Musk clarified that it is too early to talk about the widespread introduction of these implants. He stressed that it will take many more years before such technologies become available to the masses.

After the announcement, the price of the NEURALINK token broke the $1 mark again. At some point, its value reached $1.99, but then a corrective pullback occurred.

It is worth noting that the NEURALINK token has no direct connection with Musk's company. Moreover, the billionaire himself has repeatedly stated that his companies will never issue their own tokens.
