AnubisDAO Rug Pull Allegations Tied to Former OpenSea Executive

Oct 9, 2023

Kevin Pawlak, formerly with NFT marketplace OpenSea, is accused of involvement in the 2021 AnubisDAO rug pull. The accusations surfaced via an October 6th thread on X by an anonymous account called NFT Ethics. OpenSea has stated there's no concrete evidence linking Pawlak to the alleged crypto scam.

These allegations have sparked debates and investigations in the crypto community. However, conclusive proof linking Pawlak to the incident remains elusive.

NFT Ethics tagged OpenSea, demanding a response to allegations against Kevin Pawlak. According to the thread, Pawlak may be connected to the pseudonymous identity "0xSisyphus," implicated in "various questionable business activities."

They supported their claims with an Ethereum address analysis, revealing domains linked to Pawlak. However, these findings don't definitively link him to the AnubisDAO rug pull.

The AnubisDAO rug pull occurred in October 2021, raising 13,556 Ether but dispersing funds within 20 hours, causing losses for investors. Some experts remain skeptical of the allegations, as they lack concrete evidence. 0xSisyphus had previously offered a 1,000 ETH bounty for information on the incident, adding complexity to the issue.

While OpenSea distances itself, this situation underscores the industry's challenges of accountability and transparency, with no definitive evidence linking Pawlak to the AnubisDAO incident.
