Circle and Overdare are collaborating to increase IP trading and payments in US dollars

Feb 28, 2024

Circle is merging with Overdare to introduce IP trading and payouts in USDC stablecoin, promising creators secure and instant access to earnings on the upcoming metaverse platform from Krafton Inc. and Naver Z. This collaboration aims to revolutionize content monetization methods for creators, offering them the ability to trade intellectual property and receive income in USDC directly on the Overdare platform.

Scheduled to launch in the second half of this year, Overdare pledges to equip creators with Web3 wallets using Circle's technological stack. This integration ensures that revenue generated within the Overdare ecosystem can be easily converted and paid out in USDC, a stablecoin pegged at a 1:1 ratio to the US dollar. With a current market capitalization of $28 billion, USDC's role in this partnership underscores the growing intersection of cryptocurrency and the digital gaming economy.

Overdare is envisioned as a mobile gaming platform similar to Roblox, built on Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5 and offering a suite of generative AI tools. These tools will enable creators to develop their shooters, RPGs, and action-RPGs, among others. Additionally, the platform will include elements of social gaming, allowing users to create custom avatars and interact with each other.

Development of Overdare is conducted on the Settlus blockchain, with plans to introduce Overdare Studio—a PC-oriented creative toolkit. This kit will enable creators to further customize and enhance the gaming experience within Overdare, promising a rich landscape of user-generated content.

Overdare's CEO, Henry Park, emphasized the importance of partnering with Circle, citing the company's reliability and regulatory compliance as key factors. This collaboration aims to provide creators with reliable access to their earnings, marking a significant step in supporting the creator economy in the Web3 space.

As the gaming industry continues to evolve with blockchain technology and cryptocurrency, partnerships like Circle and Overdare represent the forefront of innovation, blending traditional gaming experiences with new opportunities offered by Web3 technologies.
