Donald Trump announced the release of a new NFT collection called "Mugshot Edition" priced at $99. Buyers of 47 or more cards will have the opportunity to dine with him at Mar-a-Lago and receive a part of the suit he wore in a photo taken after his arrest in August, if he is elected as the 47th president of the United States next year.
Previously released NFTs featuring Trump's image were available for just 0.1 ETH, which was half the original price of 0.2 ETH they traded for before the official announcement. However, minimum prices later rose to approximately 0.18 ETH, according to data from the NFT platform OpenSea.
Last year marked Trump's entry into the world of NFTs with his project "Trump Digital Collectible Cards," featuring collectible cards resembling baseball cards. In April of this year, he released a second series of collectibles, and both collections sold out quickly.
According to official documents provided by the government organization "Citizens for Accountability and Ethics" in Washington, as of early August, the former president and leading candidate from the Republican Party in the upcoming elections had $2.8 million in his cryptocurrency wallet. Additionally, he earned $4.87 million in licensing fees from his collection of non-fungible tokens.
