Jan 12, 2024

In 2023, there was a significant increase in the number of Web3 users, amounting to 124%. Projects based on the Near, Klaytn, and Arbitrum blockchains particularly stood out, with Near's network experiencing a record growth of 1902%. Meanwhile, networks such as Harmony, Solana, Hive, and BNB Chain recorded a user outflow. Harmony lost 96% of its user base, becoming the leader in decline, while Solana lost 76% of its users, although there was a partial recovery by the end of the year.

On average, 4.2 million unique addresses interacted daily with Web3 applications. NFT projects attracted the most new users, increasing their base by 166% compared to 2022. However, the trading volume of NFTs fell by 49%, amounting to $12.6 billion. Decentralized finance (DeFi) applications also showed growth, attracting 112% more users, and the volume of locked assets increased by 77%, reaching $103 billion.

Among social media projects, there was a 29% increase in unique addresses. The most viewed projects on DappRadar were the games Alien Worlds and Farmers World, as well as the SyncSwap exchange. In August, DappRadar reported a 97% drop in the trading volume of Bitcoin Ordinals tokens.

These data demonstrate the dynamic development of the Web3 ecosystem and significant changes in the interests and preferences of users in the field of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies, highlighting the growing involvement and adaptation to new digital trends.
