After transitioning to Arbitrum earlier this year, the mainnet of the gaming L2 HYCHAIN is now officially launched, with the beta version of the voxel-based gaming platform HYTOPIA soon to follow.

The developers of HYCHAIN, an Ethereum-based gaming second-layer solution, have announced the launch of its mainnet in anticipation of the upcoming beta release of HYTOPIA, formerly known as NFT Worlds. HYCHAIN, powered by $TOPIA and Arbitrum, is designed to facilitate the widespread adoption of major Web3 games by offering zero transaction fees, easy access through self-custodied accounts with social login options, and a developer-friendly API.

Originally, HYCHAIN operated on the Polygon Edge basis, but last year Polygon announced the discontinuation of Edge support, prompting developers to seek alternatives. The choice was made to switch to Arbitrum's L2/L3 solutions, announced in January this year. The move to Arbitrum promised improvements such as faster block times, enhancing the on-chain gaming experience. This step also expanded the network's capabilities for collaboration with partner games.

At the beginning of the month, a sale of Node Keys took place, which are NFTs required for operating Guardian Nodes, allowing owners to earn rewards. About 7 million $TOPIA tokens are planned to be distributed monthly over three years.

HYTOPIA, a free-to-play voxel-based gaming platform that allows players to create their own worlds, is scheduled to launch in an invite-only beta at the end of the first quarter of 2024. Pre-registration has already started, and users have the chance to sign up on the official website to reserve their username and potentially receive an exclusive loot box during the beta testing phase.
