The Ronin network, in particular, drew attention thanks to its flagship game, Axie Infinity, which has already made a name for itself in the gaming world. Since the beginning of 2024, Ronin's user base has increased by more than 700%, outpacing the growth of other popular projects such as meme coins on Solana, DeFi projects, and TON—the blockchain used by the Telegram messenger. At the center of this revival is the game Pixels, where players engage in virtual farming, creating land plots and completing tasks to earn digital currency. In the last month alone, over 1.25 million unique users have joined the game.

The enthusiasm generated by Pixels recalls the frenzy around Axie Infinity. Jeffrey Zirlin, the head of development at Sky Mavis, which stands behind Ronin, noted that Pixels' popularity has exceeded all expectations. He highlighted that many believed the future of crypto games would begin with the emergence of studio-quality games; however, success came to a pixel farming game, far from graphical masterpieces like Red Dead Redemption II.

Initially, Pixels was not developed for the Ronin network but started on the Polygon blockchain, moving to Ronin only last autumn, before the current trend had gained momentum. At that time, the game had only about 3,000 active users per day, while now this number reaches up to 750,000 people daily. Although these figures are not comparable to the peak numbers of Axie Infinity, Zirlin notes that Ronin now has far more users, with 12.7 million wallet downloads, making them potential participants in the gameplay of Pixels.

A distinctive feature of Pixels is that the game does not require users to be ready to use cryptocurrency from the start. Players can set up their wallets and begin earning in-game currency during the game, making it accessible to a wide audience and contributing to further growth and development of both the game itself and the Ronin network as a whole.
