Ubisoft announces the launch of its own NFT game

Feb 29, 2024

The gaming giant Ubisoft is gearing up to launch its first original NFT game, collaborating with an analytics startup to achieve this exciting innovation. Ubisoft, known for releasing games such as Assassin’s Creed and Just Dance, has announced its partnership with Helika, a leading crypto game analytics startup, to assist in the launch. The partnership was announced on February 27th, and Helika will provide blockchain and social media analytics, marketing insights, and game management functionality to be used by Ubisoft for the launch on the Oasys blockchain.

The gaming giant also announced that the gameplay for Champions Tactics will be ready for launch in 2024. The team also presented a playable demo version of the game for the first time at the NFT Paris conference. Nicolas Pouard, Vice President of Ubisoft's Strategic Innovation Lab, said, "We are excited to work with Helika to explore Web3 for gamers, and their cutting-edge game analytics, user engagement, and game management infrastructure will be a valuable addition to our portfolio."

In addition to the blockchain game, Ubisoft has also been involved in various blockchain projects and initiatives. In late 2021, the company made waves in the blockchain space by releasing free Tezos NFTs for its game Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Ubisoft has also ventured into the blockchain sphere by selling NFTs based on its popular intellectual property Rabbids, as well as selling more for The Sandbox, a game in the metaverse.
